Here’s Dan at The Front in Sardinia, again

A unique image; the first things we notice about this DATF are the rarely seen black and white photo, together with the similarly rare topless Dan. Taken once again behind the DJ, this image offers a great viewpoint of the space Dan’s created for himself, aswell as the two-armed finger salute. Dan’s clearly enjoying the music and weather, unlike the sunglass-shifty fellow to his right, who appears to take issue with the photographer. Whatever the weather, this is a rare and worthy addition.

Here’s Dan at the Front in Sardinia again

Another good time being had here by Dan. He’s obtained a decent spot toward the middle of the front of what appears to be a semi-circular barrier, which is handily doubling as an anchor. His expression is one of both joy and a feeling close to anger as he appreciates the quality of the tune, which is clearly also working for the whiteshirt skanker behind him. Most notable here is the contrast between Dan’s powerfully coloured t-shirt and the darkness of the venue. A solid DATF.

Here’s Dan at The Front in London

Here we see Dan at The Front of an unknown venue somewhere in London town. Several things are striking in this shot, notably the clear screwface expression resulting most likely from a punishing bassline dropped by the DJ who we can see is also pleasingly in shot. This image is rare in that Dan has an excellent range of movement, possibly created through his use of extravagant/powerful dance moves. Indeed, if we look behind Dan we see a female punter in a similar state of mind, almost pondering the validity of the bassline. Unfortunately it appears the white shirted bottle holder to Dan’s right has not recognised the importance of the moment, and while Dan is quite literally pointing to the Lord above in amazement, our friend seems almost nonchalant in the face of such musical prowess. Still, an excellent Dan moment which ticks most DATF boxes.

Calibre – Sun and Bass 2014

Here’s Dan at The Front in Sardinia again

This is a DATF notable for the difference in Dan’s expression compared to the audience. Clearly elated at the prospect of seeing Calibre, Dan is once again captured mid-shout in the rarely-seen behind the decks photo. Dan’s doing his best to get a range of arm movement and, although there is clear range-restriction, he’s doing a valiant job of getting his arm clear and toward Dominick Martin himself. Well done Dan.

Here’s Dan at The Front in Amsterdam

This Dan at The Front is notable for it’s inclusion of the necessary features for a good Dan at The Front. Here we see the DJ seemingly mid-mix, inspiring Dan to perform a high-radius dance move involving both arms. Dan’s expression is one of carefree excitement, and the mid shout Dan makes for an excellent composition. Dan is well-placed in the crowd, being centre-front and offering a good range of movement. We also see a drink being held in one direction while facing the other way, indicating a strong foothold in the crowd.
